Phoenix city, located in Hunan Province Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, southwest of the total land area of about 10 square kilometers. The end of 2010 about 50,000 people, the Miao, Han, Tujia and other 28 ethnic groups, typical ghettos.

Ancient city of Phoenix, is a national historical and cultural city, the first batch of China's tourism county, national AAAA level scenic Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture under the jurisdiction of one of eight counties.  

It was built in Kangxi forty-three years [1704]. 2001 was awarded the title of national historical and cultural city, Hunan, one of the top ten cultural heritage. Famous New Zealand writer Rewi Alley praised as China's most beautiful town, and the ancient city of Lijiang, Pingyao ancient city rival, entitled "north of Pingyao, south of the Phoenix" reputation
